About Linking to Data

Digita Accounts Production Advanced enables you to add data links to your reports. The advantage of doing this is that if the linked data is updated, the reports are instantly updated.

Users can select from the following expression types:

• Account value: Returns a value corresponding to the specified account.
• Category value: Returns a value corresponding to the total of accounts assigned to the specified category.
• Account description: Returns the description associated with the specified account.
• Category description: Returns the description associated with the specified category code.
• Financial period data: Returns any data from the financial period other than trial balance data.
• Element reference: Returns the specified element's name, number and start or end page. Requires an element reference id.
• Variable value: Returns the value from a defined variable within the report.
• Manual expression: Enables users to manually enter their own expressions to retrieve data.
