About User Accounts

Two types of user accounts are required when working with Digita Contact Manager. The main Digita Contact Manager user makes use of your existing Windows user's password to enable streamlined access to the application:

Digita Accounts Production Advanced makes use of your existing Windows® user's password to enable streamlined access to the application.

Digita Contact Manager User
This is the account used to define the level of access to records in Digita Contact Manager.
These users are set up via the Manage User Security Settings dialog.
This can be set up to use your Microsoft® Windows® user for authentication. This means that, provided you have logged onto windows, you can launch the application without a further log on process.
Microsoft® Windows® User
This is the account used to log on to Microsoft® Windows®.
These users are set up via the Microsoft® Windows® User Accounts dialog accessed via the User Accounts icon in Control Panel.

Digita Accounts Production Advanced can use your Microsoft® Windows® user to provide easy access to the application. Therefore it is advisable to specify a password for your Microsoft® Windows® user, in addition to your Digita Accounts Production Advanced password, to ensure only authorised personnel have access to the application.
