Set Up Windows® Authentication

Digita Accounts Production Advanced can use an existing Windows® user account for quick access to the application. This means that, provided the user has logged onto Windows®, you can launch the application without a further log on process.

Set up Windows® authentication, as follows:

Digita Accounts Production Advanced uses your Microsoft® Windows® user and password to control access and record activity. Therefore it is advisable to specify a password for your Microsoft® Windows® user, to ensure only authorised personnel have access to the application.

  1. Log in to Digita Accounts Production Advanced as the administrator user.
  2. Enable Windows® authentication for Digita Accounts Production Advanced by selecting the Allow Windows authentication check box on the System Options dialog.
  3. Open the Manage User Security Settings dialog.
  4. Highlight the user that is to be set up with Windows® authentication.
  5. Click the Edit button to edit the user.
  6. Use the Add/Edit User dialog to specify Windows® authentication, as follows:.
    • Use Windows authentication: Select to enable Windows® authentication.
    • User: Click to select a Windows® user via the Select User dialog.

    To ensure only authorised users have access to the application, you must specify a password for each Digita Accounts Production Advanced user.

  7. Click OK.
  8. The user is displayed in the User field.
  9. Click OK to apply changes to the user.
  10. Repeat this process to associate a Windows® user account for each of your users.
