Import Client Data From Xero

The Import Wizard can be used by Digita Accounts Production Advanced to import and create entity data and transaction data for clients from Xero.

The Wizard can also be used to import clients and data from other sources.

The following details are imported:

• Client data:
  • Client code
  • Client name
  • Business address
  • Business postcode
  • Registration no.
• Accounting data:
  • The latest Xero accounting period trial balance is imported into an accounting period in Digita Accounts Production Advanced and prior period values are imported as comparative data.

Import data from Xero, as follows:

1. Select File | Import to access the Import Wizard.
2. Select the Xero option from the list in the Source area and click Next to open the Select source data dialog.
3. Click the hyperlink to select the organisation to be imported. The link takes you back to Xero from where you can select the client you want to import.
4. Click on Authorise for an authorisation code.
5. Return to the application and tick the periods you wish to import. One real accounting period is created for the current period enabling you to produce accounts, the other periods are created as comparatives.
6. Click Next.
7. Click on the ellipsis button to browse to and select the appropriate template.
8. Click OK to close the Select template dialog.
9. Select one of the following Account Codes options:
   1. Use Map Xero accounts to Digita accounts where you want to map Xero codes to Digita codes (already in the template). Click on the ellipsis button to open an external mapping dialog which allows you to drag and drop Xero codes to internal codes which sit within the template.
   2. Use Xero accounts where you wish to continue with Xero codes.
10. Click Next to view the Validation Summary and then Finish to complete the import process.

Once the client has been created you can synchronise with Xero at any time via the Synchronise with Xero dialog, accessed from Financial Period | Xero Synchronisation.

Prior to v6.29 platform: Once you have imported and view your journals you will see an extra journal labelled 'Xero Sync Internal - DO NOT DELETE'. This journal is created to aid the manual journal synchronisation process and contains opposing entries of all manual journals, it should not be removed or altered in any way.
