General Dialog

This dialog enables you to record general details about an entity.

It is available by clicking the General link on the Summary tab.

In addition to the on-screen advice, you should note the following:

General tab
This tab provides a summary of key entity data:
  • Entity Tag: This tag may be useful where you have large volumes of entities and wish to logically group them. Any value entered here will appear under the Tag column on the Entity list and client records can be filtered and grouped as required.
  • Taxhead number: (ROI templates only) Enter the client's Corporation Tax taxhead reference number.
  • Scheme type: (Occupational Pension Scheme template only) Select either a Defined contribution scheme or a Defined benefit scheme.
  • Financial statements required: To ensure the correct disclosures appear on the Disclosure tab you must select the type of financial statements required.
  • Applying FRS 101: (UK IFRS template only) Select to apply the FRS 101 reduced disclosure framework.
  • If Financial statements required is changed from Company to Group without the Applying FRS 101 check box being un-ticked then a warning is displayed in the Warnings Tree Pane.

  • Tick to use IAS terminology in the FRS 101 report: Select to use IAS terminology throughout the FRS 101 report and refer to the Reporting Wording Variables section to amend the terminology if necessary.
  • Is this the first period adopting IFRS / FRS 101?: Select to enable the transitional IFRS / FRS 101 disclosures which are only required in the first year. (See Disclosure tab).
  • Financial statements to be presented to: UK IFRS, UK FRS 102 and LLP templates only

- There are separate taxonomies depending on whether the report is to be filed with HMRC and includes an iXBRL tagged detailed profit and loss, or Companies House which doesn't include any detailed profit and loss.

- For UK FRS 102 only, there is the further option to file Filleted Accounts with Companies House. Selecting the option Companies House - filing filleted accounts will hide the disclosures not required within the Small, Abridged and Micro reports. This will fully fillet the accounts removing the Members’ Report, Auditor’s Report, Profit and Loss Account and related notes.

- The final option is to present the report to Members includes a detailed profit and loss which has not been tagged.

  • Filing filleted accounts: (LLP template only) Ticking this box will hide the disclosures not required within the Small, Abridged and Micro reports. This will fully fillet the accounts removing the Members’ Report, Auditor’s Report, Profit and Loss Account and related notes.
  • Tick to include a third column for restatements on the balance sheet and related notes:(IFRS templates only) Select to enable the third column on the balance sheet, smart table notes and the share capital note.
Legal form and listing status tab
This tab provides information on:
  • The legal form of the company. If the company is limited by guarantee, enter the members' liable maximum amount in the box provided.
  • The stock exchange listing status (not applicable for UK FRS 102)
Addresses tab
This tab provides:
  • Registered office address
  • Trading address, if different from the registered address.
Registered office tab (Academies only)
This tab provides the registered office address.
Control and parent information tab (UK and ROI IFRS and FRS 102 only)
This tab provides information on the parent/controlling entity.
Relationship between entity and parents tab (UK and ROI IFRS and FRS 102 only)
This tab provides information on the parent of the largest and smallest group in which the financial statements are consolidated.
FRS 101 Parent information tab (UK and ROI IFRS only)
This tab provides the following information and is only available if the Applying FRS 101 check box on the General tab is selected.
  • the name of the parent of the group in whose consolidated financial statements the company is consolidated
  • where the consolidated financial statements are available from.
