About Templates
Digita Accounts Production Advanced uses a template system to provide common configuration and information for financial periods. This enables:
- Each financial period to be initially configured identically to the template that it is based upon.
- Any part of the configuration to be modified in the current financial period.
- Financial periods to be updated to later versions of the template.
- Modifications in the current period not to be affected by an update.
- Any financial period can be published as a template so that users can create their own templates.
The template provides the following data for each financial period:
- Accounts
- Categories
- Journal configurations
- Journal classifications
- Financial period data capture definitions
- Financial period data
- Reporting periods
- Reports
- Warnings
Digita Accounts Production Advanced uses your internet connectivity to compare your existing templates with the latest versions held on line. The Content Download Manager dialog displays a list of those templates which have been superseded, shows the changes in the newer versions and enables you to update as desired. You are also shown templates permitted under your licence which you are currently not utilising and the dialog enables you to install these if needed. Digita Accounts Production Advanced will show a message box to the bottom of your screen if newer template versions are detected at login, clicking on this box will open the Content Download Manager dialog. The dialog can also be opened by selecting Tools | Content Downloads from the main menu.
Alternatively, templates provided by Thomson Reuters can be imported manually into the database.
