Edit | Paste, Paste special and Paste link

This menu option is used to copy text and/or numbers from one range to another. Mark the range of cells to be copied with the mouse and then select Edit, Copy from the menu. Next move the cursor to the top left of the area into which you wish to paste and choose the paste icon or select the Edit, Paste menu option.

References to other cells on the same or other schedule will be flexed. Thus if cell A1 on a schedule has the formula:

A1=+B3

and A1 is copied to A2, the formula will now read

A2=+B4

If the user has typed $ immediately before a particular row or column reference in a formula, that part of the reference will be made absolute and will not be flexed. Thus if

A1=+B$3

is copied to A2 the result will be

A2=+B$3

If a formula refers to another schedule, the schedule part of the reference is always treated as fixed, but column and row references vary as before. Thus if

A:A1=+A2:A1

is copied to A:A2 the result is

A:A2=+A2:A2

and if the same formula were copied to schedule 'B' cell B2 the result would be

B:B2=+A2:B2

Implicit schedule references are flexed. Thus if

A:A1=+B1

is copied to B:B1 it becomes

B:B1=+C1

Whereas initially the formula implicitly related to schedule A, now it relates to schedule B.

References to other files are treated as fixed, and explicit references to sheets are treated as fixed as to file, as well as to sheet
