Detailed Print Options | File | Print (old-style print dialog)
This is the main print screen available in the software. In some situations, however, the previous Print dialog may be available instead.
This is where the user can select a printer and configure the properties of the printer.
It is also possible here to print the file to a .prn file by selecting the Print to file option.
This area offers a variety of printing options as detailed below:
Option | Description |
Show Changes | Checking this box will undershade data cells on the printout which have changed since a selected time and date. This is useful for checking points clearance with review copies or marking changed cells in final if requested by HMRC. |
Print footnotes at the end | Prints footnotes (which are notes, queries and sources in Review mode) after the computation rather than at the bottom of each schedule. |
Print status on page | Causes application specific information and the computation status to be printed on the cover page. |
Wide left margin | Prints schedules asymmetrically to the right of the page. Suitable if the computation is to be bound. |
Single page per schedule | Forces every schedule to print on a separate page. |
Hide index | Forces the index to not print. |
Hide cover page | Forces the cover page to not print. |
Hide queries (draft) | Hides queries and answered queries in Draft mode. |
Option | Description |
Full | Prints the schedule and internal references. |
Partial | Prints only the schedule references. |
None | Suppresses printing of cross references. |
Allows to user to choose how many copies to print out.
These options affect what the Print Options are. Standard will give standard options, whereas User defined will allow the user to define a customised report that is saved and can be reused for an application.
Options | Description |
Print what | If Standard was selected from Report class a list of application specific options as well as standard options are available. For example, Error list to print out a list of all the errors, or Computation to print out just the computation. If User defined was selected from Report class this selector changes to display all user defined reports and the option to Manage user defined reports. Selecting Manage user defined reports and clicking OK allows the user to create a new customised report, amend an existing one, or delete an existing one. It allows the user to combine the individual options that were available through the Standard menu (and any reports already defined). These reports are saved to the installation directory and can be selected the next time the application is opened. If no application specific options are chosen in the report, the user defined report will also be available for any application which has this feature. See the example below for an illustration of how to create a user defined report. |
Print type |
|
Print style | Allows the user to select a print style as defined through the Print Styles screen. These control the report as a whole. For example the font used, and the positioning of titles. For more information on how to define or amend Print Styles, and how to set a style as the default, click here. |
Computation schedules normally print out in Final mode. However, if you do not want a particular computation schedule to print out in Final mode, you may set it to be a working paper by selecting Format, Schedule, Type and then checking the Working paper option.
Note: When you roll the file forward, the schedule will be reset as a computation schedule in the later file.
Let us define a report whereby we want an Error list, Note list, and Reminder list, which would be particularly useful for review purposes.
Select Manage user defined reports in the Print what selectorwithin the Print options area and click OK.
Select New to create a new report.
Select Error list, Note list, and Reminder list in the following dialog screen (these are all the options available through Standard reports) and call the report Review.
Selecting OK and going back to the Print screen, we can now select our Report from the Print what selector.
This report will now be available from every application that has this print feature.
If now we wanted to the report Review to only include Error list, and Note list, we would select the report from the Manage user defined print reports dialog and click Amend to adjust it accordingly.
