Workflow Link (only available with the Workflow module)

When the feature is activated, the user will be logged in automatically.

Once logged in if the Start Page is displayed it will have an additional Workflow tab. The software remembers the last page on the Start Page that was in use before the session was closed so, to get to the Workflow start page, click on the Workflow tab located between the software tab and the Computations tab.

The Workflow start page lists all the tasks to which the user is allocated. The page may be sorted by Severity, Task, Entity or Due Date by clicking on the appropriate heading (the mouse cursor will change to a hand to indicate that you can click on the heading).

The Workflow Start Page tab can be used to take the user directly to specific tasks or entity information by clicking on the desired task or entity; this will open Workflow in a new browser window.

The refresh button, located in the top left of the window, will update the list and remove any tasks that appear in the list but have since been closed. The Launch Workflow link may be used to open workflow in a new browser window.

When creating a new computation for a computation type that has the Workflow link enabled, the Link to Workflow check box that enables the user to link the new computation to Workflow is shown; it is ticked by default. If a computation is created with this box checked the Link Wizard will run

If the Link to Workflow check box is not ticked when the computation is created, the computation will have a watermark that says Not for HMRC .

Note: Unlinked files may not be printed in final. Therefore, the computation will be required to be linked to Workflow before it is printed in final.

Task Pane

The task pane is added to a computation in a similar manner to other toolbars; right click the toolbar at the top, left or right of the screen and place a tick next to Tasks.

The task pane works in a similar fashion to the Workflow start page however, the tasks show are for the specific computation only, rather than all of those allocated to the user. To update the list of tasks click the refresh icon. To open a specific in a new browser window click on the task description. To open Workflow in a new browser window click the Workflow icon.

The state of the task pane, visible or hidden, is remembered by the software when it is next run. However, if the user has overdue tasks, the task pane will be forced on when the computation is opened.

Printing in final

If a user has a Filing task open in Workflow for the linked entity and prints the computation in final, a dialog box will be displayed prompting them to close the task.

Taxpacks

If a user has Data Collection tasks open in Workflow for the linked entity and imports data from Taxpack into the computation a dialog box will be displayed prompting them to close the task.

Build new period

If a computation is unlinked, the Link Wizard will run when a new period is built. However, if a new period of a linked computation is built, the file for the new period will automatically link to the next period in Workflow if it is available otherwise the Link Wizard will run.

Opening a computation from Workflow

A user may open a computation that is linked to Workflow from the Page Links section at the bottom of the Entity information page in Workflow.
