Synchronising and Unlinking from Xero

If you have imported data from Xero and you have made subsequent changes to the data in either Xero or within Digita Accounts Production Advanced prior to v6.29 platform (in the case of Manual Journals), you may wish to synchronise this data.

To synchronise the data with Xero:

  1. Select Financial Period | Xero Synchronisation to open the Synchronise with Xero dialog.
  2. Tick Include Comparative Periods if you would like these to be synchronised as well as the current period. If un-ticked, only the current period will be synchronised.
  3. (Prior to v6.29 platform) Enable two way Manual Journal updates: Ticked by default. Un-tick if you do not want manual journal synchronisation between Xero and Digita Accounts Production Advanced.
  4. Choose to synchronise Balances or Transactions. If Transactions are synchronised, a list of all the automatic journals posted by Xero is displayed.
  5. (Prior to v6.29 platform) Click Manage to open the Xero Journal Management dialog for a list of all the manual journals created in Xero or Digita Accounts Production Advanced. You can choose to unlink any of these journals by selecting Unlinked, which means they will not be synchronised with Xero.
  6. (Prior to v6.29 platform) Any new journals created in Digita Accounts Production Advanced are not linked by default so they need to be marked as Linked in the Xero Journal Management dialog in order for them to be synchronised with Xero.

  7. Click OK to return to the synchronise dialog.
  8. Click Synchronise to update your data.

(Prior to v6.29 platform) If you are using Digita codes, the mapping dialog may be shown twice on synchronisation if the read-only journals in Xero use different account codes to the manual journals in Xero.

If your client is linked to Xero and you wish to break this link, do the following:

  1. Select Financial Period | Xero Synchronisation to open the Synchronise with Xero dialog.
  2. Click Unlink and respond to the confirmation messages.
