Entity List

Entity data is accessed via an Entity list which is displayed in the main Accounts Production window.

List
This lists all existing entities and templates. It can be sorted by clicking on each column header. The order can be reversed by clicking a second time on the currently sorted column.
Refresh: Click the toolbar button, or press F5, to refresh the list to reflect changes made by other users using the same database.
Highlight Item: Click an item in the list to highlight it. You can then click on a button to perform an action on this item. You can also use the CURSOR- UP/DOWN keys to highlight a record.
Edit Item: Double-click an item to open the related Item dialog ready for editing.
Filtering: The list can be filtered via the Filter field. As you enter text in the Filter field, the list is cumulatively filtered.
Entity Structure: Click the toolbar button to view those entities, indicated by a sign, comprising sub-entities.
Click the sign to view the structure of the selected entity.
Click again to view the complete list.
Columns
The information displayed for each list item is arranged across the following columns:
  • Code: Entity code entered via the New Entity dialog.
  • Name: Entity name entered via the New Entity dialog.
  • Latest Financial Period:
  • Template: Template selected when creating a new entity via File | New | <template version>
  • Template Version: Template version selected when creating a new entity.
  • Tag: Simple data enabling you to group and filter entities. Tagging is defined in Templates.

You can extensively control the content of the entity list via the:
You can reorder the columns by clicking and dragging a particular column heading. A Red arrow icon depicts where the column will be moved to.
Filter List
The quickest way to locate an item is to type the name into the Filter field on the main toolbar.
You can also locate the required records in the entity list via the Filter Row.
Open/Close Entity
Entities can be opened for work by either:
  • Double-click an entry in the list.
  • Highlight an item in the list and select File | Open Selected.
To close an entity, select File | Close.
