Version 19 - platform build 6.30 onwards

The updates within version 19 include:

  • Legislative updates in accordance with 'Academies Accounts Direction 2023 to 2024'.
  • Within the category structure "Balance" added a new category 'SOFA 2 3 1 1 1 4 - Other employee benefits' and added a new row to the Staff costs disclosure dialog for this.
  • Replaced wording “board of trustees” with wording variable ‘GoverningBodyDescription’ and replaced “accounting officer” with variable ‘AccountingOfficerDescription’.
  • Removed duplicate wording from within the ‘Pensions’ note.
  • Removed duplicate column header from note ‘Transfer of existing academies into the Trust’.
  • Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
Version 18 - platform build 6.30 onwards

The updates within version 18 include:

  • Legislative updates in accordance with 'Academies Accounts Direction 2022 to 2023'.
  • Customers now have the option to populate the “Funds” values in the report via journal/category assignment or continue to populate the Analysis of Funds disclosure dialog as before.
  • Within the category structure "Funds", new sub-categories have been added to allow users to assign the funds breakdown values and report in more detail. Also, ‘Restricted general funds’ and ‘Restricted fixed assets’ have been moved into ‘Restricted Funds’.
  • Corrected errors in the following notes whereby the note would error unless comparative data was entered:
    • Donations and capital grants
    • Funding for the Academy Trust’s educational operations
    • Other trading activities
    • Investment income
    • Other charitable activities
    • Analysis of grant expenditure
  • Visible link added to the reports to Edit Data on the Disclosure tab.
  • Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
Version 17 - platform build 6.30 onwards

The updates within version 17 include:

  • Legislative updates in accordance with 'Academies Accounts Direction 2021 to 2022'.
  • New section added to the Disclosure tab named ‘Accountants Assurance Report’ to disclose the “accountants work performed to draw a conclusion” and a “description of matters for concern”.
  • New sections added to the Disclosure tab named ‘Group Investments’ and ‘Investments’ to disclose further details about the investments held. The section ‘Subsidiaries and Non-Consolidated Subsidiaries’ has been hidden as no longer applicable. Within the ‘Investments’ note found in the reports, a new sub-folder named ‘Details of undertakings’ has been added linking to these new disclosures.
  • New category added for 'Endowment funds brought forward' and updated the reconciliation within the ‘Statement of Financial Position’.
  • The option to provide “further information” has been added to the disclosure 'Long-Term Commitments (including Operating Leases)'.
  • A Report Table Settingsdialog has been added to t the Summary tab providing an option to edit the text and alignment of the table column headers.
  • New additional disclosures added named Non-Import Custom Disclosures.
  • Corrected issues with disclosures which would prevent the template from pushing to the web in anticipation of this in the near future.
  • Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
Version 16 - platform build 6.24 onwards

The updates within version 16 include:

  • Updated the Independent Auditors Report per the latest bulletin (August 2021), applicable to periods commencing on/after 1st February 2020 and correct the accounting references.
  • Improved the presentation of the disclosure of Expenditure related party transactions.
Version 15: - platform build 6.24 onwards
  • New categories added for 'Endowment funds' with the primary statements and notes updated to include these .
  • Report Options (including Report Settings, Number and Date Format, Report Wording Variables) were moved from Disclosure tab to the Summary tab.
  • Disclosure 'Long-Term Commitments (including Operating Leases)', formerly 'Commitments under operating leases', updated to include disclosures for “Covid-19 related rent concessions”.
  • Edited 'Statement of Financial Activities' to move 'Other trading activities' and 'Investments' to 'Income and endowments (VI)' from 'Charitable activities'.
  • New category added for 'Notice deposits' and updated 'Analysis of cash and cash equivalents' to include this.
Version 14: - platform build 6.24 onwards
  • The ‘Group Funding for Academy Trust’s Educational Operations’ and ‘Funding for Academy Trust’s Educational Operations’ disclosures have been updated to include an option for exceptional government funding, in accordance with the supplementary bulletin issued by the ESFA.
Version 13: - platform build 6.24 onwards
  • Option added to present comparative information on the dace of the SOFA or in the notes for all items of income and expenditure.
  • New disclosures added for Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting for periods beginning after 1 April 2019.

  • This version covers the new legislation introduced in Academies Accounts Direction 2015 to 2016
  • Transition provisions are added for the first time adoption of FRS 102 and these can be enabled by ticking the First time adoption of FRS 102 control on the General dialog of the Summary tab.
  • The Statement of Financial Activities has been split out so there is now the option to add a statement for the current year and a separate one for the prior year in all the Academies reports.
  • The format of the Cash Flow Statement in the Academies - consolidated accounts and Academies accounts reports has been brought into line with the FRS 102 standard.

The Academies version 6 template is in accordance with the Academies accounts direction 2014-2015 (SORP 2005). It is available for platform build 6.8.7163 onwards and includes the following changes:

Financial Period Data

  • Summary tab: Additional officer types added.
  • Disclosure tab: Employer's pension contributions added to the Trustees' Remuneration and Expenses disclosure; new disclosures added for Connected Charities, Agency Arrangements, Creditors and Teachers' Pension Scheme (to show pension costs paid to TPS).
  • Reports: The reports' wording has been updated in accordance with the Academies accounts direction 2014 - 2015 (SORP 2005)
