The Actions Task Pane is a window which groups together several common actions for ease of use. The items are context sensitive, so will only appear when relevant and the content will vary slightly as you move from sheet to sheet.
By default, the pane provides easy access to the software Help as well as a history list of recently opened files. It is possible to customise the list of options on view in the Actions task pane by selecting Tools > Options > Task Panes and checking the required sections.
The Actions Task Pane can be set to appear by default every time you open the software. Right-clicking on a blank area of the toolbar brings up a menu which allows you to toggle the Task pane on and off as required. The Task pane can be closed by clicking on the Close button on the toolbar.
The Task pane shows various options which are context specific:
Develop a schedule
This allows you to develop related schedules from the schedule you are currently working on. This is context-specific and changes depending on what schedule you are using. It is equivalent to using the Develop menu.
Help
There are two help functions available:
1. Help for the schedule you are currently working on (this is equivalent to using the F1 key to get schedule-specific help)
2. Information on related schedules is also accessible.
Data Entry
This allows you to change the schedule settings for the schedule you are working on. For Example, on the Fixed assets schedule, you can choose to include reconciliation back to the P&L.
View cells of type
If you have errors (and notes or queries if activated) in your computation, this section will appear and will give you an option to easily display a list of those cells.
Open file
You can open files that you have used recently here or use More Computations to open other documents.
Scenarios
Contains options relating to the What-if scenarios functionality. This feature is also available from the Tools menu.
Currencies
These options are equivalent to using the currencies toolbar.
Queries, Reminders and Audit
These three sections will appear when you are in Review display mode. They contain options to raise, edit or respond to queries and reminders, or to view the audit trail.
View User Options
This section displays a link View user options dialog... that will open the Tools > Options dialog.
