The options available are for the focus to move to the cell directly below (down), up, left or right of the current cell. It is also possible to switch this feature off by selecting None. The default value here is None.

This check box enables the user to switch the prompt that appears on pressing the Delete or Insert key on or off. By default, this box will be unchecked.

Prohibit live links from other applications to cells which do not have a range-name

Selecting this check box will prevent a user from linking any other application to cells within the current computation unless the cell has a range-name.

Prompt for source to be entered(only available in the Risk module for Accountant users)

This check box enables the user to switch the prompt that appears requiring a source to be entered on or off. By default, this box will be checked. Note that this user setting may be overridden by a software policy which requires sources to be entered. If you wish to change this policy please call your supplier to discuss.

Display sources dropdown (only available in the Risk module for Accountant users)

This check box enables the user to switch between two ways of entering sources; check this option to choose the standard method (whereby the data source is entered into the 'Choose source' dialog), or leave this option unchecked to use the alternative method (whereby the data source is entered into the 'prompt window'). By default, this box will be unchecked. This option is only available in the Risk module for Accountant users.

File

Background file linking

This option, when checked, will defer updating links in the current file to other files until after the current file is opened. If this option is unchecked, the software will perform this task during the opening of the current file.

Users with less than optimal network performance may wish to check this option to accelerate the opening of files.

If a computation is opened which has links to a computation that has been moved to a different location, a dialog box appears providing the user with the option to browse for the missing linked file. Selecting the Don't browse for missing linked files option will disable this dialog. This is useful if there are lots of missing linked files and you wish to prevent the browse dialog from continually appearing.

Prompt for status change

This option causes the ?File Status? dialogue box to appear upon saving from which the status of the current file can be changed if required.

Prompt user before saving files

This option, when checked, displays a prompt to confirm that the user wishes to save the current file.

Interval in minutes

This option enables the user to set the time interval after which an auto prompt reminding the user to save the file will appear. This is a reminder and is not an automatic save. The user will still need to save the file in the normal way. Any value up to 90 minutes may be entered.

After the time interval specified, the software displays a dialog saying File Save reminder: At least one file has not been saved in the last X minutes. There are buttons marked Save and Defer.Save saves all open files and displays the dialog again in X minutes. Defer does not save any files and the dialog will be displayed again in X minutes. The prompts are only displayed if the user has at least one file open for editing in the software, and at least one file has not been saved for X minutes.

To disable the auto prompt, enter a value of zero into the box.
