Add Report Element Template

Any element in a report can be saved as a report element template enabling it to be re-used in the current and other reports.

Create report element templates as follows:

  1. Open the Select Report Element Template dialog.
  2. Select the template you want to base your new template upon.
  3. Configure the template to your requirements.
  4. Click OK to view the new template element in the Report pane.
  5. Right-click on the new template element in the Report Structure tab and select Save as Report Element Template.
  6. Change the File name to a template name of your choice and save the template to the default location.
  7. To view or amend the default location go to: Tools | System Options and click the ellipsis button next to the Report element templates location control.The names of existing templates can also be updated from here by renaming the appropriate template file.

  8. The new template will now appear in the list shown on the Select Report Element Template dialog.
